About Me
I've spent the last five-plus years deep in enterprise data engineering — building the pipelines and platforms that large organisations actually depend on day-to-day.
My work tends to sit in the hard middle ground: where legacy on-prem systems meet cloud architecture, where data quality decisions have real downstream consequences, and where engineering trade-offs show up in platform costs and SLA reliability. I've delivered across real estate, finance, and healthcare for Fortune 500 clients — usually parachuted in to modernise something brittle, scale something that wasn't built to last, or build something from scratch under time pressure.
Day-to-day I work on Azure Databricks and Snowflake — designing ingestion patterns, building transformation frameworks, tuning performance, and making sure things don't break at 2am.
What I work with
- Platforms — Azure Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog
- Languages — Python (PySpark, pandas), SQL (T-SQL, Snowflake, Spark SQL)
- Patterns — Medallion architecture, SCD, incremental loads, Delta merge/upsert
- Tooling — dbt, Unity Catalog, Jupyter, Git, Docker, VS Code
